Zamfara State Government has registered a total of 25,000 orphans under its welfare scheme.
Governor AbdulAziz Yari disclosed this in a broadcast to mark the end of this year’s Ramadan Fasting.
According to him, considering the economic recession, the state government established over 230 feeding centres across the state during the Ramadan period.
He said that the programme had helped greatly as it brought succour to the less privileged persons.
The governor further stressed that the government ordered for the payment of workers salary at the beginning and the end of the fasting period to ease the hardship amongst the civil servants.
Yari, however, said his administration would continue to promote peaceful coexistence between farmers and Fulani.
He noted that the round table discussion between the factions had yielded positive result as farmers and Fulani have started relating normally.
According to him, government would do everything possible to sustain the peaceful coexistence between the two sides.
