One of the contenders  for the Kogi State House of Assembly under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Architect Amdii Zagaru, has emerged as the candidate of the party after a direct primary election was conducted at Oguma, the headquarters of Bassa local government.

Speaking on the development, the media head of Zagaru campaign organization, Awom Victor, said the emergence of Amdii was one of the steps of the party to secure the state from the ruling
party.

Awom assured the Bassa electorate that the candidate would put an end to the current ugly trends in the constituency, if elected.

According to him; “With this development, Zaguru and his campaign team have hit the ground running in the journey intended to salvage Bassa constituency from legislative insensitivity, cluelessness, political hegemony and economic plummet. It is evident that Bassa constituency, in the last eight years, has no projects to show that we are being represented at the State House of
Assembly.”

He further commented on the situation of the constituency which is believed to be underdeveloped under the current representative member.

“Infrastructure wise, Bassa constituency visibly exists as one of the most backward constituencies in Nigeria in spite of its legislative apparatus that can be employed to salvage our predicaments. It is also of consequence to bring to the public glare the total relegation of health and education in Bassa constituency despite the constituency allowances accruing to the people between 2011 and 2019,” he
said.

Assuring the citizens that their problems would be ameliorated, he said; “However, these narratives and lamentations would soon come to an end as the good and well-meaning Bassa indigenes have decided to take the bull by the horn to say no to champions of underdevelopment. We urge all men and women of goodwill to join hands with Arc Amdii and bring about development in Bassa by 2019.”
