The Governing Council of the Yaba College of Technology has appointed Dr. Taiwo Oyelola as the Acting Rector of the College with effect from December 10, 2017.
The appointment was in pursuant of Section 7(1) and 9 (4) b of the Federal Polytechnic Act, which empowers the Chairman, Governing Council, YabaTech to make such an appointment while awaiting the appointment of a substantive rector.
Oyelola is an experienced environmental chemist and an enterprise and entrepreneurship education teacher.
She had her first and second degrees in Chemistry from the University of Lagos and a doctoral degree in Environmental Management from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
She is a Chief Lecturer and former Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and member, American Society for Nutrition; Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria; Chemical Society of Nigeria; Nigerian Society of Environmental Management; and Women in Technical Education and
Development.
