Woman falls from storey building to escape violent turkey’s attack, seriously injured

woman, simply identified as Ugo, has narrowly escaped death as she fell from the first floor of a one- storey building in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State, when a turkey suddenly attacked her.

The mother of three had attempted to feed the birds, but she got the shock of her life as one of the turkeys attacked her, resulting in her falling from the first floor of the building.

The victim, who lives at Alafia Street, said the owner of the birds, who is a soldier, had given her some money to buy feed for the birds while he was about to travel.

 

The soldier did not want her to buy the feed for the animals. He told her not to buy the feed but to give the money to the man the birds are familiar with. The woman refused and decided to buy the feed for the animals. The violent turkey attacked her. She sustained very serious injury across her face. She hit her face on the walkway while trying to escape the turkey’s attack

 

According to an eye witness, Ukachukwu Unegbu, the owner of the bird “is training so many birds, including parrots and fowls. He wanted to travel on that fateful day, but asked the woman to help him to give money to one man so that he could use buy feed for the animals. But the animals were already hungry by the time the woman came with the feed. On sighting the woman, a turkey rushed towards her. The woman, who was scared by the turkey, fell from the one storey building and injured her face She was rushed to the General Hospital in Lagos.  The woman sells local gin at Ojoh Lane Junction,  Layinka Street, here in Ajegunle.

Another eyewitness, Christopher Akpan, also said, “God saved that woman. She would have been dead by now. She fell face down. People were crying and we prayed that she should survive the accident. The injury was very deep. There was blood everywhere.

“The soldier is a good man. He wanted to travel that fateful day and that was why he decided to give money to one man so that he would buy feed for his animals. Since the incident, the soldier has spent about N100, 000 on the injured woamn’s treatment. He first deposited N50,000 and later sent more money for her treatment.”
