Woman, 35, hangs self on ceiling fan in Ogun

A 35-year-old woman, Mrs. Omolola Atejioye, on Tuesday night committed suicide by hanging herself on a ceiling fan in her apartment along Ago-Iwoye Road, Ilishan-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Details of the circumstances that led to her death could not be ascertained as she did not drop a suicide note before she hung herself.
The state acting Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident, said that the deceased’s husband, Mr. Ayodele atejioye, found his wife’s body dangling in the room when he returned from work at about 5:30pm.
Oyeyemi said the deceased’s husband immediately reported the matter to the police, while her remains had been deposited at the mortuary of the Babcock University.
The acting PPRO added that a post-mortem would be carried out on the deceased to ascertain the cause of her death.
“A member of staff of the Babcock University reported to our men in Ilisan-Remo that he returned from work around 5.30pm and met the body of his wife dangling from the ceiling of their apartment, after the door was forced opened.
“The policemen later brought the body down and it had been deposited in the mortuary of the Babcock University in the same town. The deceased did not leave any suicide note.
“A post mortem would be carried out on the corpse,” he added.
