GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, on Tuesday, sacked his Commissioner for Environment, Igbiks Tamuno, while the latter was addressing the press.
Though sources have linked the Commissioner’s removal to alleged loyalty concerns, the state government did not state the reason for its action.
The news of Tamuno’s sack filtered in while he was briefing journalists on the state’s environmental challenges.
The statement announcing his removal as Commissioner was signed by the Media Assistant to the Governor, Kelvin Ediri.
The Governor directed Tamuno to submit all Government documents and property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment.
