A housewife has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband, Emmanuel lkukuni, with a plank in Okitipupa, Ondo State.
The woman, identified as Queen Beatrice, was said to have attacked her husband for receiving a call from a woman believed to be his mistress in her presence.
The confrontation led to a fight, which eventually led to the death of the man, it was learnt.
The angry suspect was said to have used a plant to hit her husband on the head.
He was said to have slumped and died before he could be rushed to the hospital.
A sister of the victim, who spoke to journalists, said the suspect had confronted her late brother for speaking to another woman in her presence.
“During the fight, she hit him with a plank and he died instantly. They have arrested her,” she said.
The suspect has however been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, in Akure for further investigation, it was learnt.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the incident, saying investigation had commenced on the matter.
