Veteran filmmaker, Zeb Ejiro, has indicated interest in running for the House of Representatives, Isoko Federal Constituency, in Delta State. The seat is presently occupied by Hon. Leo Ogor.

He told our correspondent that the situation of Isoko where he came from made him to take the decision. According to him, they produce nothing less than 10 per cent of the crude oil revenue in Nigeria. Yet, there is nothing to measure.

He said, “On my own father’s land, the Ogini flow station is there but we are not getting anything. And when we are talking about the Isoko nation, my people are not supposed to live the way they are living right now. Look at Abuja, it was built with that 10 per cent of the oil revenue, although Lagos in a way can stand on its own as a nation.

“So, all the oil blocks are not owned by my people and the development outside my place is so huge that if the 10 per cent of the oil revenue can be put back into the development of that community, things will change.”

He stated that there is somebody from PDP occupying the position at the moment, insisting that he is doing a great job but he feels it was time for a new direction, vision and approach.

“I want a situation where I can fight for my people; I’m going to make sure we get our share of the national cake. I will make sure there are industries there because there is no federal presence there and it is contributing to the federal purse,” he added.
