A teenage wheelbarrow pusher has reportedly died while fighting a woman at a market in Enugu State.
The young wheelbarrow pusher, said to have been of 15 years of age, was said to have hit the female trader’s wares while passing inside a market popularly known as Uwa Mgbede in Holy Ghost Area of Enugu, capital of Enugu State.
Witnesses’ accounts revealed that immediately she discovered that her goods had scattered; she held onto the boy’s clothes and started slapping him.
Fighting ensued after the woman attacked the boy and in the process, the woman allegedly held onto the boy’s testicles and squeezed it for long.
It was gathered that the woman, an indigene of Abakaliki, did not let the teenager go until he collapsed.
The boy, whose identity was unknown as at the time of report, was said to have been rushed to two different hospitals but he was allegedly rejected before he died.
“What happened was that a boy, about 15 years of age, a wheelbarrow pusher at Uwa Mgbede market used his barrow to scatter the woman’s food items that she sells.
“So, seeing that her wares had fallen off from the container she put them in, she slapped the boy and both of them started fighting.
“The woman dragged and squeezed his testicles till he collapsed.
“People at the market immediately rushed the boy to Mother of Christ Hospital Enugu, when they got there, he was rejected. Same thing happened when the boy was taken to Parklane Teaching Hospital. The boy later died,” a resident who identified himself as Ifeanyi told The Point.
