English Premier League club West Brom are poised to offerNigeria captain Ahmed Musa a contract after the winger impressed the coachingstaff with his physical condition.
The free agent arrived in the United Kingdom on Tuesdaymorning but the scheduled tests were delayed because the Baggies were involvedin Premier League action against Sheffield United.
Musa passed an in-depth fitness test conducted by WestBrom’s sports science and performance team at the training center in Walsall onThursday, paving the way for him to thrash out a deal with the club.
The player’s intermediary, Tony Harris is proposing ashort-term deal with the possibility of extension at the end of the 2020-2021season.
Although Musa has been inactive for club and country sinceNovember 17, 2020, he is in tip-top condition because he doesn’t smoke, drinkor party in clubs, and was training on his own in Nigeria before heading to theUnited Kingdom.
The 28-year-old was on the radar of clubs based in SaudiArabia, China, Mexico, Turkey and Russia but chose West Brom because he wantsto prove himself again in the Premier League.
Musa was Leicester City’s record signing when he moved tothe Foxes from CSKA Moscow in July 2016.
