The Management of Conference Hotel Nigeria (owners of Conference Hotels Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu as well as Journalist Rendezvous Hotel, Isheri, has announced plans to upgrade its outlets in Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu to the standard of its flagship, Conference Hotel Abeokuta.

This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday in Abeokuta by the hotel’s Media and Public Relations Consultant, Victor Eniola Mark.

According to him, “Although services at Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu are already fantastic, work is ongoing in Ijebu-Ode to achieve a facelift that will match-up with growing demands and standards.

“What we are doing is to raise the bar in the hospitality sector of Nigeria.

“It is obvious that what we have done with our flagship in Abeokuta has got people talking about ‘Conference Hotel Standard’ whenever hospitality is being mentioned in Nigeria, especially in Southwest Nigeria.”

Recall that the hotel was declared open about two months ago by Vice President Yemi Osibajo, in company with Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun; former governor Olusegun Osoba and several other dignitaries.

At the event, the dignitaries showered accolades on the owners, acknowledging in no ambiguous terms the Conference Hotel Standard’s uniqueness and potential.

Mark added, “Even though it is obvious that our facilities in Abeokuta meet up with international standard and will compete favourably with any hotel in Nigeria, show me that hotel in Ogun State that has facilities as good as ours or services as fantastic as ours.

“We are the best in Southwest Nigeria and plan to make this fact obvious soon enough in all our outlets.”

He also addressed concerns in a viral video about prices of services in the hotel, dismissing the content of the video as outright falsehood, misleading and pedestrian.

Mark said, “Let me use this opportunity to state clearly for the records that although our services are fantastic and our hotel is the best, our rates are affordable even for modest income earners.

“Someone drew my attention to a video with outright false, pedestrian and misleading claims about pricing at our hotel.

“Well, the young lady is a comedian, who is trying to make ends meet. Although misleading, let the story be that she loved our facility and couldn’t afford any of our rooms, one of which cost only about 40 per cent of her claim.

“Our rates are online; so there is no need to spend much energy addressing falsehood. Remember also the popular statement in local parlance: “Shoes get size.”

Mark assured potential clients of wonderful services at the hotel at all times, adding that civil servants in the state were already enjoying its services on a daily basis.

“We are glad Ogun civil servants enjoy hanging out at our Roof Terrace Bar, Safari Lounge every evening as well as our Sunday Buffet at the Emerald Restaurant. They do so without breaking ‘an arm and a leg’,” he said.

“Be assured of fantastic services in all our outlets anytime,” he added.
