Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan have assured their fans not to lose hope as the team is capable of redeeming its image in the second stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Ibadan fans have yet to recover from the home defeat by visiting FC Ifeanyiubah and they had vowed not to come out and watch the team in their remaining matches in the NPFL.
The Stars were beaten black and blue with three unreplied goals in front of their teeming fans who thronged the stadium to watch the beautiful game.
Speaking with our correspondent, Shooting Stars spokesperson, Ayo Arowolo, said the defeat was just a temporary setback, adding that they will soon bounce back. But the team is already swimming in the relegation waters and only miracle could salvage the situation for them.
Shooting Stars are billed to host Katsina United on Sunday in Ibadan and the team needs to live up to the expectations of their fans. “We still have hope. There is no cause for alarm. We won’t go down just like that.
We can’t fail. It is impossible. We will continue to fight to the end and regain the overwhelming support of our fans,” Arowolo said.
