The Deputy Chairman, Bende Local Government Area Council, Mr. Chidiebere Asonye, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party will demystify the All Progressives Congress in the area in the 2019 general elections.
Asonye stated this while speaking to our correspondent in his office at the end of the inauguration ceremony of the council area chapter of the Hope for All Organisation in Bende, the council headquarters.
He said as far as the area was concerned, the APC remained “only in the air and not among the people,” adding that, nevertheless, the PDP was ready to confront it in any electoral contest without fear.
“We are not intimidated by the presence of some expired political heavyweights in the APC. What matters is who has the grassroots. Come 2019, we will prove again that we are on the ground in the area,” he added.
Speaking earlier at the Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu Multi-Purpose Hall at the headquarters, Asonye assured the members of the organisation of the commitment of the council to achieving its set objects in the area.
He commended the activities of the organisation, which is an off-shoot of the Vicar Hope Foundation, a pet project of the wife of the Governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu, assuring the members of the council of his support.
