The Unity Party of Nigeria chapter in Ogun State has said that the crises rocking main opposition Peoples Democratic Party and the ruling All Progressive Party is a blessing in disguise to it.

An impeccable source within the party, who disclosed this to our correspondent in Abeokuta, said that the crises in the two major parties would give the UPN an opportunity to win over the aggrieved members from both the PDP and APC into its fold.

This move, the source stated was a way to bring key political gladiators in Ogun into the party with a view to upstaging the APC in the state come 2019.

According to him, the party was already working with some aggrieved members of the two parties to form an alliance and to bring them into the UPN, instead of forming a new party of their own.

The source noted that the party was waiting for the outcome of the Supreme Court judgment on the crisis in the PDP, assuring that the some aggrieved members would fall out of the party.

He assured that the UPN was ready to admit such members into its fold.

He said, “We want to bring key political gladiators, who are the movers and shakers of Ogun State politics, into our party.”
