The Nigerian Airforce has said that it killed about 300 Boko Haram militants in its last nocturnal air strikes against the positions of the insurgent group in Borno State.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, disclosed this in Maiduguri after his return to Bama, where he inaugurated borehole and 30-bedroom Emergency Hospital built by NAF to address the health challenges confronting the IDPs in Bama

The CAS said, “We have intensified our airstrikes in recent weeks but on the 19th of August, it was an outstanding one. I am very happy because it was an outstanding one where we killed about 300 insurgents in that operation. They are dead, they can never wake to fight us again.”

Abubakar therefore enjoined troops in the area not.to relent in their efforts to stamp out terrorism, saying, ” I urge you to continue the good jobs you are doing here, there is no hidden place for them, we shall continue to strike them.”

He, however, advised the remaining insurgents to surrender and face justice or risk being killed in subsequent air strikes.

Inaugurating the borehole and 30-bedroom Hospital at the Bama IDPs camp, the chief of air staff, said, ” Securing the land is our responsibility to secure lives. This camp hospital is to address health challenges in this camp. We have trained personnel who will be attending to challenges here,” Abubakar said.
