The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation stated on Monday that there has been no instruction given for employees to switch their designated salary accounts on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System.

The Director of Press and Public Relations, Bawa Mokwa, released a statement to dispel recent rumours and reassure government employees about the security of their payroll arrangements.

In the statement issued in Abuja, the OAGF reiterated that the welfare of workers is a key focus and reassured that no official directive will be issued to create confusion or undue worry.

According to the statement, any modification in an employee’s salary account is solely at their discretion, without any broad directive for bulk account alterations.

The OAGF also advised financial institutions to boost confidence among customers and provide reliable service to employees receiving their salaries in their banks. The office added that the regulatory agencies overseeing the well-being and strength of financial institutions are effectively carrying out their duties.

The OAGF recommended that workers follow the established procedures to prevent any complications when changing their salary accounts on IPPIS.
