Visa racket: Woman remanded for swindling fellow woman N390,000

Men of the Lagos State Police Command have arraigned a 49- year -old woman, Rita Nchekwube, at an Apapa Magistrate Court over alleged involvement in visa racket.
Nchekwube was said to have swindled another woman of the sum of N390,000.
The accused person reportedly conspired with others at large to dupe their victim.
In a three-count charge, Nchekwube and his co-travellers were said to have conspired among themselves to commit the offence at First Bank, Olodi – Apapa contrary to Section 411 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
The second count read that the accused person and others now at large, “did obtain the sum of N390,000 from one Annet Igben with the pretense that you were going to procure Dubai visa for her, a representation which you know to be false thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 304, Criminal Laws of Lagos State.”
The last count stated that the accused person and others at large stole and converted the sum of N390,000 to personal use, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 287, Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr N.A. Layenu, granted bail to the accused person in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties who must be tax payers.
