Uruguay will take on Italy in the final of the U20 Fifa World Cup today after both sides won their respective semi-final matches last Friday.
At the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata, Uruguay needed a 61st-minute goal courtesy of Anderson Duarte to silence Israel while Italy needed a goal in either half to sink South Korea 2-1 at the same venue to advance.
Italy took the lead in the 14th minute when Cesare Casadei latched onto a through ball from Samuel Giovane before placing it past the advancing South Korean custodian Joon-Hong Kim.
South Korea kept their composure and they equalised in the 23rd minute when Seung-Won Lee stepped up to convert from the penalty spot sending goalkeeper Sebastiano Desplanches the wrong way.
With four minutes left on the clock and the game destined for extra time, substitute Simone Pafundi powered home what turned out to be the winner after finishing off a neat cross from Matteo Prati.
Italy and Uruguay will face off in the final on Monday at Estadio Ciudad de La Plata.
