Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has restated his commitment to the development of the state using available human and non-human resources to realise the vision.

The governor gave the assurance while welcoming some defectors from the All Progressives Congress to the People’s Democratic Party at a campaign rally held at Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.

Umahi announced the appointment of the former South East zonal Chairman of APC in Ebonyi State, Chief Samuel Odeoru, as Senior Technical Assistant to the state government on the occasion, saying the decision was intended to further boost infrastructural development in the
 state.

The governor said his administration would soon begin the construction of the ‘C’ curved flyover bridge at Ezzamgbo junction in the state capital to decongest traffic and reduce incessant accidents occasioning deaths at the junction.

Odeoru, alongside 6,000 supporters, defected from the APC to PDP in Ebonyi State recently.

The former APC chief commended Governor Umahi for his leadership style and for redefining the state, saying his exemplary leadership style was a major attraction to the new members of the PDP in the
state.

He said Governor Umahi’s achievements, in less than four years in office, had transformed the state, adding, “We will never campaign against Engr. David Umahi. He has an identity; he has performed creditably. I am defecting to the PDP with all my supporters to support what he is doing in the state; he has transformed the state.”
