After their mid-week game against Nasarawa United, Ijebubased Remo Stars are battle ready to subdue visiting El Kanemi Warriors Football Club of Maiduguri on Sunday in a Nigeria Professional Football League duel.
Remo coach, Nduka Ugbade, has mapped out fresh tactics to silence the team, which is desperately looking for an away win to give good impression in the series. Remo Stars will go into the game with a bit of confidence, after their recent remarkable showing in the league.
Talking about the match, Ugbade was sure that his wards would go all out to grab the maximum points in the match. “Having won our first match in the league after three matches played, we lost two, won one. We have no other thoughts in our hearts, other than to get the maximum three points,” he said.
The former Golden Eaglets’ assistant coach also opined that the game against the Warriors would be a bit difficult, because they are a disciplined and determined side. He said, “Having been in a league, where we have never participated before, in such situation, the expectation is high and they have been in the league for some years now.
I feel it will be a big problem for both sides. “All things been equal, the most important thing is performing very well, and seeing the possibility that we can achieve something as we progress in the league.”
Meanwhile, Remo Stars’ highest goalscorer and captain, Victor Mbaoma, has said that he was delighted to have scored three goals in the first three games for the club. Mbaoma found the back of the net in his first three games in the NPFL, against Plateau United, Gombe United and Abia Warriors.
