Two Italian Serie A clubs are interested in signing Faustino Anjorin ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to reports, it’s not just Torino who are tracking the former England U20 international. Atalanta have set their sights on the Empoli midfielder to replace the Brazilian Ederson, who in the event of a huge offer would be allowed to leave without too much resistance.

Several clubs are monitoring the situation of Ederson who has a valid contract with the Bergamo club until the summer of 2027.

After spending sixteen years at boyhood club Chelsea, Anjorin left Stamford Bridge for good last August, signing a three-year contract with Empoli until the end of the 2026-2027 campaign.

The Cobham product has played in seventeen Serie A games and registered three assists but was not available for selection in the last seven games due to a thigh injury.

Before his spell on the sidelines, Anjorin impressed with a string of commanding performances for Empoli.

Interest in the 23-year-old extends beyond Atalanta and Torino, with Nigeria coach Eric Chelle also keeping tabs on him ahead of the June internationals.

After four years without an England call-up, Anjorin has made it clear he’s eager to represent Nigeria, a development that makes things much easier for Chelle, who won’t need to convince him, unlike the more complex cases of Tosin Adarabioyo, Carney Chukwuemeka and Lesley Ugochukwu.

Anjorin spent time on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow, Huddersfield Town and Portsmouth during his time at Chelsea.
