There was pandemonium in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State on Saturday morning following a bloody clash between two groups of suspected motor pack thugs.
No fewer than two residents of the town were allegedly killed by stray bullets said to have been fired by the rampaging hoodlums.
It was gathered that the battle started since Friday night at the Ikirun/Ilorin motor packs at Old Garage area of Osogbo after some thugs beat up a transporter.
The aggrieved transporter was said to have mobilised another group of thugs to the parks to unleash mayhem in the area while searching for the people who attacked the transporter earlier.
In the ensuing melee, the thugs exchanged gunfire, while traders in the area scampered to safety.
A woman, said to be a labourer was hit by a stray bullet and died instantly at the popular Orisunbare market in Osogbo.
Another person, whose identity was not known, was reportedly killed at another market, at Idi-Seke by the touts, who were said to be shooting sporadically.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun State, Mrs Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident.
Odoro said that four suspects had been arrested and assured that others would be apprehended.
Meanwhile, the remains of the victims have been removed by the police while normalcy had been restored to the affected areas.
