THE Federal Government has summoned foreign diplomats to a crucial meeting over the suspension of twitter operations in Nigeria.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, will preside over the meeting with the foreign diplomats.
The meeting follows criticisms by governments of the Unites States, United Kingdom, including the European Union, among others, against the action taken against Twitter.
They condemned it as infirngment on the rights of the people.
“Following the recent ban on Twitter by the Federal Government and Press Statement issued by some Heads of Diplomatic Missions Accredited to Nigeria on the subject matter, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency, Geoffrey Onyeama, has invited the affected Ambassadors to a Meeting,” the notice read.
