Toddler’s disappearance: Appeal Court frees Prophet Alfa

THE Court of Appeal sitting in Akure has freed the founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Prophet Babatunde Alfa.

The renowned prophet had been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ondo State High Court over the mysterious disappearance of a one year old boy, Gold Kolawole, from his church, located at Oshinle Quarters, Akure.

Gold was said to have been brought to the church service by his parents, but was never seen again.

The Ondo State High Court sentenced Prophet Alfa and five others to life imprisonment for the mysterious disappearance of the toddler on October 7, 2020.

The prophet was accused by the parents of the missing child of being responsible for the disappearance of their son.

Others who were found guilty of the offence were members of his church, identified as: Omodara Olayinka, Margaret Oyebola, Grace Ogunjobi, Motunrayo Egunjobi, Esther Kayode and Peter Anjorin.

Recall that the one year old boy, Gold, got missing on November 10, 2019 during a Sunday service in the church after his mother, Modupe Kolawol, left him at the creche department.
