The Paramount ruler and Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, has expressed confidence that the administration of President Bola Tinubu would take the country to the promised land.

Tinubu is currently bring hosted by the monarch at his palace in Ogun State for the President’s first official state visit after being sworn in.

Oba Adetona, while speaking, wished Tinubu well and prayed for the success of his government.

Addressing the President, the monarch said, “I believe you (Tinubu) will take us to the promised land. You will prosper. I will have to thank you. We are happy because you are our President. Our security has improved and I no longer hear of attacks and death.”

“Let’s keep praying so that God will continue to support him. He will have second term,” the monarch informed dignitaries at the visit.

Speaking, President Tinubu said he spoke out in Ogun State before the Presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress because the cash trap was severely affecting Nigerians, especially those in Ogun State, and thanked the citizens for casting their votes for him notwithstanding the hardship.

He described Oba Adetona glowingly, saying, “You are no longer Baba NADECO, you are now President’s father. Few people can emulate your courage, your steadfastness and your frankness. I just come to say thank you. I made a promise before the primary that I will come back. We thank God this is happening while you are alive.

“We have started work since swearing-in. God will solve Nigeria’s challenges. It’s an homecoming for me and I have so much to thank you for because of the way you have taken and responded to me. May you live to see a better and prosperous Nigeria.”

He added, “To all the Obas, elected officials, and particularly, my friend, Gbenga Daniel, you will have to be there with us. To many of you, thank you for being there for me and for the country. You have demonstrated so much loyalty, commitment, voted at a very crucial time, your money were confiscated. The cash trap didn’t work, it was terrible then, I realized that and I came to Ogun State to invoke the spirit of freedom for which we are noted for. I invoked that spirit twice, the spirit of Baba is Emilokan.”

Facing the Awujale again, Tinubu said, “That has been the spirit that is driving me to serve. I just to respond to home calling saying I need to see you. Here is your President, he is your son. Thank you for everything and I thank God for you being alive to witness today. Our diversity to our prosperity will never be forgotten.”

Present at the ongoing event were Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun; former Ogun Governor, Gbenga Daniel; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, among others.
