President Bola Tinubu has relieved the Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, Chioma Ejikeme of her duties 13 months after reappointment for another four years in office.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Head, Corporate Communications Unit of PTAD, Olugbenga Ajayi, the President announced that Tolulope Odunaiya has been appointed as the new executive secretary.

The statement noted that Odunaiya officially assumed office on November 18, 2024, at the PTAD Headquarters, succeeding Ejikeme, who served from August 2019 to November 2024.

Tinubu had, in October 2023, reappointed Ejikeme as the PTAD’s executive secretary.

In her first address to the staff, Miss Odunaiya pledged to build on the achievements of her predecessors while fostering a culture of collaboration and unity.

She stated, “It is with a deep sense of responsibility and purpose that I address you as the new Executive Secretary of this Directorate. I want to begin by acknowledging the remarkable work of my predecessors and the dedication of every individual who has contributed to bringing us to this point.”

She emphasized her vision of a collaborative work environment, saying, “My vision is for a Directorate where every individual feels recognized, empowered, and motivated to make meaningful contributions. I urge all of us to transcend personal interests and come together around our shared purpose: improving the lives of our pensioners, who have selflessly served this nation, often in challenging circumstances.”

Highlighting the importance of pensioners, she added, “Pensioners are the backbone of our country’s history and development, having devoted their time, skills, and energy to building the Nigeria we inherit today.

“Making sure they get the attention, dignity, and prompt benefits they are entitled to is both our duty and our honour. Their sacrifices will always be remembered, and by working together, we can make their retirement years meaningful and underline their importance to the country.”

Additionally, Miss Odunaiya reiterated PTAD’s dedication to coordinating its operations with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasising effectiveness, responsibility, and empathy.

She declared, “By prioritizing efficiency, accountability, and compassion, we will contribute to a nation where every citizen feels valued and supported—especially those who dedicated their lives to public service.”

After her speech, the newly appointed Executive Secretary took a tour of PTAD’s divisions and sections to obtain a personal understanding of how the organisation operates.

This is the start of a new era for PTAD, as Miss Odunaiya hopes to carry out the Directorate’s mission to provide excellent and committed service to Nigerian pensioners.
