The National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Nigeria, Dr Ajibola Basiru has said the hard truth about the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu is that “short-term pain is inevitable.”

He said since leadership choices have profound impacts on people’s values, Nigerians would comfort challenges before enjoying the gains of President Tinubu’s policies.

Basiru, a former Senator, made this known while speaking at Book Presentation and 60th Birthday Celebrations of Comrade Amitolu Shittu in Osogbo on Sunday.

The APC national scribe, who was the guest lecturer at the event organised by Comrade Amitolu Shittu Foundation in honour of the former Osun Amotekun Field Commander, spoke on theme: “People’s Value and Leadership; The Challenges of Tinubu Presidency.”

Basiru discussed the concepts of value, leadership, and the intersection between people’s values and leadership with the brave efforts so far made by Tinubu, saying that the President “is not only compassionate about his people, but he is courageous and daring.”

“As we reflect on the challenges of the Tinubu presidency, we must realize the hard truth that short-term pain is inevitable as it becomes clearer that leadership choices have a profound impact on people’s values.

“People’s values and leadership are intertwined concepts that are essential for building strong, resilient, and successful communities and organizations,” he added.

The former spokesperson of the Senate reiterated Comrade Shittu’s commitment to the ideals of justice, equity, and good governance, which have been inscribed in the annals of the society.

He said Shittu’s life bears testimony to the strength of advocacy and the effect one life can have in service to others.

Personalities from walks of life graced the ocassion while many speakers at the event showered encomium on Amitolu Shittu.
