All Progressives ongress candidate, Bola Tinubu and his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi are running neck on neck in the 12 local government areas so far declared in Lagos State. While Tinubu has won seven, Obi has won five.
Notwithstanding the setback of losing his local government, Ikeja, to Obi, the former Lagos Governor is still slightly ahead of Obi.
The results for the local government areas announced include — Lagos Mainland, Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos Island, Badagry, Ikeja, Kosofe, Eti-Osa, Somolu, Amuwo-Odofin and Agege. There are 20 local government areas in the state.
Aside from Ikeja, where Mr Obi recorded a big upset, the LP candidate also won in Kosofe and Somolu Local Governments, widely seen as strongholds of the APC.
