The Federal Government has affirmed commitment to eliminate barriers hindering the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises in the country.
The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, Charles Odii who disclosed this after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Friday, noted that the commitment aligns with the administration’s Renewed Hope economic agenda.
Addressing the purpose of the meeting and the outcome on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, he wrote, “The meeting to discuss our #GROWNigerian strategy aimed at realizing his Renewed Hope economic agenda. This strategy is designed to empower Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with the necessary guidance, resources, opportunities, and workforce support to thrive.
“President Tinubu expressed dedication to SMEDAN’s core mandates of rural industrialisation, job creation and livelihood enhancement.
“The ‘GROW Nigerian’ strategy aims to create an enabling environment for over 40 million small businesses, offering affordable financing, market access, mentorship and capacity building.
“I am grateful to have received his assurance of support and commitment towards our agency’s mission, particularly in rural industrialization, job creation, and livelihood enhancement.
“I thank Mr President for his valuable time and exemplary leadership. His assurance has strengthened my resolve to diligently pursue our mandate and deliver impactful results to every small business owner across the nation.”
