Prof. Itse Sagay, a renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria, is currently the Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption. In this interview with FRANCIS SADHERE, he talks about the effects of recent Supreme Court judgements on some states’ governorship elections, the padding of the 2016 budget and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s accusation that some SANs are colluding with suspected looters, among others.
In President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption, no Itsekiri man has been fingered among those suspected to have corruptly enriched themselves. What is your comment on this?
I am very glad about that, but if an Itsekiri man was involved, it would not have made any difference. President Muhammadu Buhari would have still gone ahead to do what he ought to do. The President is doing a great job in his struggle to stabilise this country and it is going to be a long battle ahead. Outright, I support what the President is doing.
