Kola Ologbodiyan, former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party has blamed the crisis rocking the party on the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Ologbodiyan agreed with the claim by Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP that there is an external interference in the opposition party’s crisis.

While speaking on Arise TV’s The Morning Show on Tuesday, Ologbodiyan said there are attempts by the APC to reduce the PDP to nothingness.

The PDP chieftain alleged that the appointment of Nyesom Wike, who is a PDP member, and his involvement in the APC government is part of the strategy to orchestrate the collapse of the opposition party.

Ologbodiyan said, “On the issue of external assault from the from the APC or the principals in the APC, you will recall that at every situation in which we have discussed PDP on this platform, I have always made the position known that there are attempts to reduce the People’s Democratic Party to a branch or an arm of the All Progressives Congress.

“And I have also went further to say that the involvement of the former presidential aspirant on the platform of the party and current Minister of FCT, and I mean former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, in the governance of the of the APC has created a room that can lead to the collapse of the People’s Democratic Party. That is a fact.”

Citing the conflict surrounding the party’s national chairmanship and national secretary positions, Ologbodiyan admitted that the PDP has some internal crisis to address. However, he insisted that external influences take advantage of the issues to infiltrate the party, disrupt its structure and system.

The party chieftain wondered why the crisis lingers on, saying the issues could have been settled internally by the party’s national working committee, if there were no external influences disrupting the PDP affairs.
