The Osun State Police Command has docked a teenager named Adams Mohammed and three other persons for allegedly stealing N13 million worth of cows.
Other defendants that were arraigned before a Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Osogbo are Saheed Mohammed, 35; Mufutau Badmus, 45; and 30-year-old Mohammed Bolakale.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Taiwo Adegoke, informed the court that the accused persons committed the offence on September 4, 2022 at Bukol Marshal Farm, around Okanla Central Mosque, Okinni, Osun State.
He said that they stole 30 cows worth N13 million belonging to one businessman, Bukola Oyewole Oyekanmi.
Adegoke added that Saheed Mohammed had, sometimes in June, 2022, at Bukol Marshal Farm, fraudulently obtained the sum of N300, 000 from Oyekanmi.
Prosecutor said that the defendants conspired with others at large to commit the offences, saying that they contravened sections 516, 390(9) and 419 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
They pleaded not guilty to the three-count-charge preferred against them.
Chief Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara granted the defendants bail in the sum of N28 million with two sureties each in the same amount.
The matter was adjourned till November 2 for hearing.
