Nigeria Super Sand Eagles returned to international soccer since 2019 with a hard-fought 5-4 win against Mauritania in Nouakchott.

The SuperSand Eagles who returned to action after the ban on the team was lifted, has few days to prepare for the games with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appointing Abdullahi Isa as New Head Coach on Thursday.

The team will now be hoping to ensure they win the second leg in Nigeria and secure a spot in this year’s CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Egypt from August 26-31.

Meanwhile in other games played at the weekend, 2025 FUFA Beach Soccer World Cup host Seychelles suffered a 3-7 loss to Mozambique at home and will be walking on a tight rope.

14 teams are playing in the qualifier to determine seven slots at the 2024 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.
