The Prime Minister of Britain, Keir Starmer, on Thursday, met the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, at the White House.
Starmer’s visit, the second made by a European leader to the US, follows that of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, earlier this week.
The British PM is expected to enter into talks with Trump to discuss the US President’s easing of the West’s hardline stance on Russia and its President, Vladimir Putin.
Starmer will also try to convince Trump of the need for the West to continue to support Ukraine which was invaded by Russia three years ago in what Putin called “a special military operation.”
In addition, Starmer will also try to dissuade Trump from slapping a 25 percent tariff on the United Kingdom.
