Pilgrims from Sokoto State, currently in Saudi Arabia for the annual hajj, have held special prayer session for the continued recuperation of President Muhammadu Buhari and the peaceful coexistence of the Nigerian nation.
The special prayer, which took place at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, also had in attendance pilgrims from other states, who expressed pleasure at the efforts of the Sokoto delegation.
“Our pilgrims joined other well-wishers during a special prayer session for the health of the President, stability of their state as well as peaceful coexistence of the nation,” a statement issued by Malam Imam Imam, the special adviser on media and public affairs to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, said.
The statement, which was made available to journalists, added that the prayer sessions were led by Islamic scholars, who expressed happiness at the return of President Buhari from his medical vacation in the United Kingdom.
“The pilgrims expressed delight at the safe return of the President. They also prayed to God to give him and his lieutenants the strength to execute their mandates for the development of the nation.
“As for their state, Sokoto, the pilgrims and their officials commended Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and the state pilgrims welfare agency for the necessary arrangement put in place to ensure a smooth hajj exercise.
“They expressed optimism that the hajj season would be concluded in peace and harmony,” the statement added.
