Six men arraigned for burgling Odegbami’s home

Six men alleged to have burgled the home of former Super Eagles captain, Chief Segun
 Odegbami, were, on Thursday, arraigned before the Igbosere Chief Magistrate’s Court in
 Lagos.
The accused men are Oke Moses, 18; Abdul Azeez, 22; Ajibade Rahmon, 24; Isaac Okenuga, 29; Olusola Orisansope, 22; and Daramola Abiodun, 22.
They are facing a four-count charge of stealing, conspiracy and receipt of stolen properties. According to the charge filed before the court by the Police prosecutor,
Sergeant Chijioke Njoku, the accused committed the offenses between June 1 and 20, at 13,  Saro Close, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Two of the accused persons, Moses and Azeez, are alleged to have broken into  Odegbami’s  home and made away with items valued at N14.1 million.
Among the stolen items were an iPhone 7plus, valued at N490, 000; a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone, valued at N150,000; two Apple laptops with a combined value of N600,000 and a Rolex watch valued at N12 million.
Other items were a box containing clothes and shoes, valued at N500, 000; and a phone
recharge cable with a value of N5,000. The other four accused persons are alleged to have received the stolen goods from Moses and Azeez.
The alleged offenses are in contravention of Sections 287, 307 (b), 328 (1) and 411 of the
Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
While adjourning the case till 24 August for a mention, the presiding magistrate, Mrs. F.O.
 Botoku granted the accused bail in the sum of N1 million each with two sureties each in like sum.
The sureties are required to be gainfully employed and possess evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State government.
