A middle aged man, Surajudeen Sanyaolu, has dragged his estranged wife, Senabu, to a customary court sitting in Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State, for allegedly threatening him with broken bottles.

Sanyaolu told the court that his wife of two year was fond of raining curses and using broken bottles to threaten his life whenever they had disagreement.

The father of one, who prayed the court to dissolve the marriage with his wife, said he had reported her on many occasions to her mother and family members but all efforts yielded no fruitful result.

He alleged that his wife, after making trouble with him and threatening him as usual, packed out of their matrimonial home without his notice in 2019.

Sanyaolu added that since he married Senabu two years ago, he did not have peace of mind as a result of her frequent trouble, curses and her stubborn attitude.

He prayed the court for the “dissolution of the two-year-old marriage on the ground of frequent fighting, no rest of mind, stubbornness, cursing and threatening of my life with (broken) bottles.”

The man also demanded for an order of the court to restrain the wife from further coming to his house or work place to foment trouble or cause any form of harassment in order for peace to reign.

In her defense, Senabu explained to the court that her husband was not man enough to care for her and their only child.

She denied the allegation that she threatened her husband with bottles and raining curses, saying that she left the house over his failure to show her love.

The President of the court, Mrs A.O Abimbola, ruled that the child should stay in the custody of her mother and adjourned the case for further hearing.
