Senate resumes, suspends plenary over Rep’s death

 The Senate on Wednesday resumed but suspended its plenary till Thursday January 17,  in honour of a member of the House of Representatives, Abayomi Adeola, who died on December 30, 2018.  

Wednesday’s plenary lasted about 25 minutes after a motion by Francis Alimikhena that the adjournment be made in honour of the late lawmaker. 
Abayomi represented Ibeju Lekki Federal Constituency of Lagos State. 

He died at a private health facility in Lagos after a brief illness on December 30, 2018. 

He had won his party’s ticket for a third term before his death. 

Meanwhile, the Senate observed a minute silence in his honour on Wednesday before adjourning, after a voice vote. 

The lawmakers met last at the Red Chamber on December 20, 2018  when the bade themselves farewell for the Christmas and new year festivities.
