THE Senate has commenced investigations into the alleged physical assault of a Security guard by the Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal, Danladi Umar.

This follows a petition brought to the Upper Chamber by the lawmaker representing Plateau North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Istifanus Dung.

The affected security guard, identified as Clement Sagwak, hails from Plateau State.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan referred the petition to the Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, which is to report back within four weeks.

The committee is chaired by Senator Ayo Akinyelure, PDP, Ondo North.

Recall that Danladi was seen in a viral video physically assaulting the said security guard at Banex Plaza in Wuse, Abuja.

The guard had advised him to park his vehicle properly at the Plaza, which apparently did not sit well with him.

In reaction, other people at the Plaza rose to the defence of the security guard and attacked the CCT boss in return.
