A cleric, Apostle Lawrence Bamilaw, has asked the Federal Government of Nigeria to desist from being defensive and giving excuses over its inability to tackle the challenges confronting the nation.
Bamilaw, the converner of an annual spiritual programme, the African Marathon Praise, 2020, asked Nigerian political leaders to be humble and admit their inability to bring desired changes by ensuring peace and security in Nigeria.
Addressing a press conference in Osogbo on Monday, Bamilaw, the Chairman of a Non-Governmental Organisation, Apostolic Grace Network Incorporation, advised President Muhammadu Buhari to seek spiritual help by appointing religious leaders that would assist his Government in tackling the nation’s challenges.
The cleric lamented the challenges bedeviling the country, especially in the area of insecurity and economy and stressed the need for the Federal Government to approach spiritual leaders for help.
While disclosing that the marathon praise would hold on Saturday, December 5, 2020 between 9am and 6pm at the Union Baptist Church, Odi-Olowo, Osogbo, Bamilaw said lots of testimonies had emerged from those who had been attending the annual event.
He said the #EndSARS protesters did not ask for too much in their demands and that the hoodlums who hijacked the demonstration were sponsored by politicians.
On the coronavirus pandemic, the cleric tasked African leaders to declare a day of thanksgiving to God for not allowing evil predictions to materialise in the continent.
He said, “I ask the Federal Government to secure the nation and ensure peace. #EndSARS protesters did not ask for too much. If Government had listened on time, there wouldn’t have been violence. Hoodlums hijacked the peaceful protets and these hoodlums are political thugs from all the parties. The Government needs help.
“Insecurity and economic crisis are now the order of the day in the country. I want to task the Federal Government of Nigeria, incorporate spiritual leaders into your system of Government. Call for spiritual help because you are obviously helpless. You need to ask for help, so that you can be helped. FG needs supernatural help, call for technical help from the foreign nations.
“Bill Gates predicted that dead bodies would be picked once coronavirus gets to Africa but we thank God it is not so. So, I want all the African leaders to declare a thanksgiving service day in their nations to celebrate God’s preservation through the pandemic period. Don’t take God’s grace for granted so that you won’t be grounded.”
