Mohamed Salah broke the record for most goal involvements in a season, and Virgil van Dijk scored a late winner as Liverpool defeated West Ham United 2-1 on Sunday.
West Ham equalised in the 86th minute, and captain Van Dijk headed the winner three minutes later in front of the Kop to put Liverpool two wins away from the title.
With six games remaining, Liverpool leads second-place Arsenal by 13 points, while West Ham is in 17th place with 35 points, 14 points out of the relegation zone.
Anfield observed a minute’s silence before kickoff in remembrance of the 97 people who perished in the Hillsborough Stadium tragedy in 1989.

The Dutchman intimated that he would stay, and a development is anticipated next week.
Van Dijk’s contract expires at the conclusion of the season.
Salah duly provided the cross for the opening goal after the home team had a strong start.
His brilliant pass with the outside of his boot curled past the final defender and allowed Luis Diaz to tap in at the edge of the six-yard box.
With 45 goal involvements in 38 Premier League games, including 27 goals and 18 assists, the opener gave Salah the record for most goal involvements in a season.
Mohammed Kudus spotted Alisson off his line and tried a lob for West Ham, but the Brazilian goalie scurried back and turned the shot against the crossbar to give Liverpool a reprieve.
