The recently dismissed Secretary to the Kano State Government, Abdullahi Bichi, has threatened to reveal what he described as “explosive evidence” against political figures, accusing them of deceit and betrayal.
Bichi, who was removed from office in December 2024, made the declaration upon his return from Saudi Arabia.
Addressing his supporters in a viral video on Thursday, he accused the leaders of betrayal and deceit.
“I’m happy I left the office in peace, but let me be clear, this is not the best time to talk. At the right time, we will expose them.
“I have documents, videos, and voice notes that will show everyone who they really are,” Bichi said.
The former SSG’s strained relationship with Governor Abba Yusuf and his mentor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, came to light following his suspension from the New Nigeria People’s Party on October 14, 2024.
Describing the leaders as “masters of betrayal”, Bichi said his evidence would reveal the inner workings of their relationship.
“They don’t know anything except treachery. They can’t be trusted,” he added.
This development has sparked intense speculation among political observers and residents of Kano.
Many are waiting to see if Bichi will follow through with his threats and how it could shake up Kano’s political landscape.
Bichi was accused of orchestrating efforts to sever Yusuf’s ties with Kwankwaso’s political influence.
He was subsequently suspended from the party with the then Transportation Commissioner, Muhammad Diggol.
The State NNPP Chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, while announcing the suspension of the two government officials, said the suspension came after the party received multiple complaints from the ward and local government leadership of the party.
Dungurawa said the two officials were suspended because they were disrespecting the party and its leadership.
He stated, “The party cannot tolerate actions that undermine its leadership and structure.
“After receiving formal complaint letters from their wards, and upon confirmation of the allegations by the local leadership, we have no other option but to take this decisive step.
“The leadership of the NNPP in Kano North, under the chairmanship of Sulaiman Dambatta, further verified the allegations, which led to the ultimate decision to suspend both officials.”
