A 20-year-old man, Badmus Gbadamosi, has been arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command for killing his roommate, one Friday Michael, aged 27yrs.
The incident occurred over the weekend at Mamu area of Awa-Ijebu, when the suspect came in around 6.30 am and shot Michael to death with a locally made pistol, at a time the latter was fast asleep.
The sound from the gun attracted other occupants of the house to the scene and they quickly alerted the police. The Divisional Police Officer for Awa-Ijebu Division led his men to the scene and the suspect was promptly arrested.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is a member of a notorious armed bandits terrorising the area, and that the deceased had accosted him on one or two occasions while coming from robbery scenes.

It was the fear that the deceased might expose him that prompted him to snuff life out of him.
The assailant had made useful information to the police which would help in nabbing other members of his group.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the suspect to Force Special Anti-Robbery Squad for discrete investigation, while the body of the deceased had been deposited in a morgue, for post mortem examination.
