The House of Representatives is asking the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, to stop the issuance of air strip licences to private individuals and organisations and withdraw licences already issued.
This follows a motion by Honourable Suleiman Gumi.
The lawmaker drew attention to the private airstrip approved for Winners Chapel in Ogun State and reminded the House of the 2014 incident where a prominent religious leader was linked to a private jet used to convey millions of dollars to South Africa for the purchase of arms.
The House is concerned about the security situation across the country and granting air strip would further worsen the situation.
