The female Yoruba language rap scene should start witnessing some real fireworks soon as Beambo Taylor, a newcomer, is making some solid moves that will definitely hurt the stock of the lady who’s been holding the genre together for some time now, Mz Kiss.
With songs like Figure 8, Spartacus, Stoopid, Ikilo, Wawu, Kiss had been the female Yoruba language rapper with the most visible presence, but suddenly Taylor is knocking on her door, challenging her for top honours.
And Taylor doesn’t hold back in her buzzing song, Funwon Finish, whose lyrics severely attack someone who can be no other person than Kiss. According to a portion of the lyrics, Taylor admitted that she’s the newcomer, but that she’s better than the person she met on ground.
So, will Taylor and Kiss be another case of real music rivalry like Tupac and Biggie or one of them will easily bite the dust?
