The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the recently approved N32,000 pension increment for retirees under the Defined Benefit Scheme.
Representing PTAD, Head of Corporate Communications, Olugbenga Ajayi explained that the January 2025 pension payments did not yet include the increment due to delayed budgetary allocations.
Nevertheless, he reassured retirees that the agency is collaborating closely with appropriate government entities to ensure the complete execution and timely disbursement of outstanding payments.
Ajayi also mentioned, “PTAD has disbursed four months’ arrears (August–November 2024) to pensioners within the Civil Service Pension Department (CSPD) and five months’ arrears (August–December 2024) to pensioners from the Customs, Immigration and Prisons Pension Department (CIPPD), Police Pension Department (PPD), and the university segment of the Parastatals Pension Department (PaPD) via effective funds management.”
Reinforcing PTAD’s dedication, he promised pensioners, “PTAD is devoted to consistently prioritizing their needs.”
He also highlighted that, via this initiative, the arrears for the 20% and 28% pension increments had been completely settled for all pensioners.
