ONE Prophet Ikechukwu Nwadike has landed in police custody for raping a minor after allegedly giving her a dangerous dose of India hemp.

The Point learnt that the prophet went berserk during a deliverance session and fed the girl with some concoction made with India hemp before having carnal knowledge of her.

The alleged rape took place at Umuazu Village in Uke, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The prophet was said to have moved into the premises of Ichie Otutu Muonwem of Umuazu, Uke, about four months ago in the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic and converted the place to his worship centre.

The 42-year-old mother of the victim, Peace Ejikeme, said Prophet Nwadike drugged and raped her daughter during deliverance after he told her that the girl was possessed by two demonic spirits.

Ejikeme, a widow, said, “On September 17, the Prophet gave a prophecy about my daughter that two spirits, a demonic spirit and a heavenly spirit, were fighting to gain control of her life and that there was an urgent need to separate her from the evil spirit.

“The prophet said I should send her for a midnight deliverance. It was therefore, shocking to hear from my daughter on her return that she would not go to that prophet and his Church anymore. As she was narrating her ordeal of rape, I broke down in tears.

“When confronted, the Prophet denied the act, saying he only rubbed oil all over her body. I asked him why he wanted to destroy my child when he has his own. He then fell on his knees begging for forgiveness, that it was temptation and he would never repeat it again.”

The woman also alleged that the Prophet administered some concoctions laced with Indian hemp on her daughter, which made her drowsy for some days.

It was learnt that the youths in the area had stormed the church to arrest the prophet.

He was arrested and detained at Zone 13 Headquarters in Dunukofia.

The Anambra Police Public Relations Officer, Nkiru Nwode, while confirming the case, said the matter was still being investigated and the suspect would be charged to Court after investigations were concluded.
