President Muhammadu Buhari has sent 80th birthday greetings to former President Ibrahim Babangida.
Born on August 17, 1941, Babangida will be 80 years old on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
Buhari, in a congratulatory message signed by his Senior Special Assistant (Media & Publicity), Garba Sheu, is wishing Babangida a “long and healthy life.”
The president noted that as former military commanders during the war, both retiring as Generals, they have mutual interests, great hopes and expectations in a strong and united Nigeria.
He expressed hope that privileged Nigerians like Babangida and others like himself will recommit to ongoing efforts to help the nation to reach more glory, progress, and prosperity.
Babangida ruled Nigeria from August 27, 1985 until his resignation in 1993.
