Police take campaign against cultism, other vices to schools

Ebonyi State Police Command has commenced campaigns against cultism and other vices in schools in the state.

This was made known on Wednesday by the command’s image maker, Joshua Ukandu in a statement in Abakaliki Ebonyi State capital, in commemoration of the 2025 National Police day.

According to Ukandu, plan to commemorate the Police Day which is slated for 7th April is aimed at honouring the dedication and sacrifices of police officers in securing the country.

The activities lined up to commemorate 2025 National Police day in Ebonyi state include the following: “In collaboration with the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices volunteers, the command will engage students in discussions about the dangers of cultism, violent crimes, and related issues.

“A free medical outreach will be held for members of the public on April 3, 2025. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to check their health status. The venue for this outreach will be the Police Officers’ Mess in Abakaliki.

“Town Hall Meeting: A critical dialogue session will take place between police officers and key stakeholders to assess the security situation in the state and to enhance police-community relations.

“Cleanup of Public Areas: On April 2, 2025, the command will organize a cleanup of the popular Spera In-Deo Roundabout and encourage residents to manage refuse, particularly styrofoam and plastics that clog our drainage systems.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State Command, CP Adaku Uche-Anya, fdc, encourages members of the public to join in the celebrations and recognize the commitment of police officers to safeguarding lives and property.”
