A notorious traffic kingpin, Muritala Danni, has finally been arrested by police operatives in Lagos.

The suspect had been on police wanted radar for five years over human trafficking activities across some African countries.

He was said to have once been arrested by police but later escaped from custody with alleged invincible power.

But this time, Sanni was arrested at his hideout in a hotel in the Amukoko area of Lagos State by Policemen from the Amukoko Police Station.

A non-governmental organisation, Kick Against Human Trafficking and Human Rights Abuse Foundation, was said to have facilitated the arrest and handed him over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons for prosecution.

He was arrested after one of his victims was used as a bait to trick him to the hotel.

The suspect was said to have fallen into the trap, and was eventually arrested and detained at the Police Station for interrogation.

The President, Kick Against Human Trafficking and Human Rights Abuse Foundation, Ojay Akinwale, while speaking on the matter, said, “Sanni’s arrest was a major success for the organisation as his alleged trafficking network cuts across Libya and East Africa.”

Confirming the arrest of the suspect, Public Relations Officer, NAPTIP, Hajara Tunde-Osho, said he would be prosecuted for the alleged offence after the conclusion of investigations.

“The suspect risks several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty over the alleged offence,” the PRO said.
